While the first release is pretty close to being a perfect game to start off new players on their online casino journey, this sequel is hardly for beginners and casual punters.

The volatility can be pretty brutal, not least compared to the light-hearted original, and the 2 XXXtreme betting options (not for UK players) can easily burn through your bankroll in no-time. The triple-X in ‘XXXtreme’ seems a bit, ehm, “extreme”, perhaps, but at least it’s going to get noticed. The game certainly lives up to the title though, and NetEnt has pretty much taken everything to the extreme opposite polarity in Starburst XXXtreme - well, everything except the audiovisual presentation, which remains very similar to the somewhat dated original.

The eye-popping 200,000x potential is technically possible indeed, and racking up potentially massive multipliers up to x450 from the classic Expanding Sticky Wilds Respins feature is very much a game-changer. The same can be said about the 2 XXXtreme Spins options, and overall this is pretty much everything we hoped for in a follow-up to one of NetEnt's most iconic and timeless releases.
